Magnetic knife blocks are usually made of wood with a strong hidden magnet attached. Magnetic blocks have several advantages. The magnetic feature allows you to arrange your knives in a lot of different ways (some people say artisitic). Wall Mount Magnetic knife blocks are the only style that can be mounted on the wall. You will not need to guess as to which knife to pull out since the wall mount style shows the knife blades. Magnetic Knife Block Styles Many magnetic knife blocks look like a block of wood. You can't tell they are magnetic until you put something metal on them. The knives are typically hidden behind the wood block. Wall mount styles have a wood or magnetic appearance. Many of the wall mount magnetic knife blocks are very inexpensive. A less common use of magnetic knife blocks is to put knives under the counter or under the cabinet.
